Our vision is to create a community where economics will not pose limitations on our student’s potential by serving as a medium that encourages philanthropy and teaches our students to share and seek resources to benefit their community.

Governing Board of Directors

Our governing board of directors is comprised of volunteer members of our community who all share one common purpose: to provide the best possible education to every student that walks through our doors. They are business leaders, experienced educators, and Mater alumni who bring a diverse set of skills and the knowledge of what it takes to educate children in today’s global landscape. 

Who oversees the operations of the Mater Foundation?

The Mater Academy, Inc. Board with direct oversight provided through the President.

What is the percentage of fundraising money that goes back to the community?

100 percent of the net fundraising will “go back” to the school communities that Mater serves.

What does the Mater Foundation do with the uMater campaign monies that are raised?

Through our annual uMater Campaign, the Foundation is able to give back to our schools to ensure our students reach their highest potential.  The uMater campaign, is a network-wide fundraiser with the goal to provide our students with unique, enriching opportunities that will prepare them for success in college and career. Mater Foundation activities, include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Scholarships for high school seniors
  • Summer enrichment grants for students in grades K-11
  • Assistance to fund Mater college tour trips
  • Teacher Mini Grants
  • Backpack/ school supplies assistance
  • Uniform assistance
  • Mater community pay-it-forward events
